He co-wrote several training courses for Application Developer's Training Company (www.appdev.com), including VB.NET, ASP.NET, Access 2000 and 97, Visual Basic 6, and Visual Basic 5 seminars.He has also recorded video training for AppDev covering VB.NET, ASP.NET, VB6, Access 2000, and Access 97. Dieses Buch ist für Leute die schon etwas Erfahrung mit Access gesammelt haben. Access-Anfänger fassen sich an den Kopf und fragen sich was da für Probleme gewälzt werden, aber es sind die alltäglichen Stresstests im Leben eines Systemadmins die hier auf genial einfache Weise angesprochen und gelöst werden.Mit Hilfe von Feldfunktionen die anhand einer konkreten Problemstellung durchleuchtet wird schon ein Teil alltäglicher Probleme gelöst. Richtig trickreich und geradezu magisch ist dann die Zusammenarbeit von Felder, Feldfunktionen und Visualbasic mit seinen Eventfunktionen. Das ganze ist hier einleuchtend gelöst und gut erklärt. Man könnte noch mehr... aber die Autoren halten sich klug zurück wo das Problem gelöst ist.Mein Lieblingsteil: Reports! Hell/dunkel abwechselnd nach Datensatz, Anfangs- und Enddatensatz der Seite als Seitenfuß.Gebrauchswert: Durchblättern im Bett, Benutzung am Computer in der alltäglichen Panik schnell eine Lösung zaubern zu müssen. Lösungen werden schnell gefunden und können benutzt werden ohne Spezialkenntnisse aus den Kapiteln vorher.Aufbau, Ausstattung: Um die CD kommen wir auch bei diesem Buch wieder nicht rum, sie scheint mir aber diesmal gerechtfertigt. Klasse: _keine_ 100seitige Zusammenfassung von Visualbasicfunktionen. Aufbau, Inhaltsverzeichnis und Index ist O'Reilly-typisch einfach toll.Wer des Englischen einigermaßen mächtig ist wird sich diesen Leckerbissen einfach kaufen _müssen_, alle anderen warten sehnsüchtig auf eine Übersetzung in's Deutsche.Schlußsatz: ein Cookbook im BESTEN Sinne!
